About Us

Who We Are

Southern California Community Empowerment Corporation (SCCEC) is a faith-rooted, community-led organization supporting individuals and families impacted by trauma, grief, systemic violence, and loss. We create culturally grounded spaces where people feel seen, held, and supported as they navigate healing and reclaim their strength.

We meet people with compassion, cultural humility, and respect—bridging spiritual care with wellness tools that honor lived experience.

OUR MISSION

To heal, empower, and uplift communities impacted by trauma and violence through mental wellness, faith-based connection, and transformative support.

Our History

SCCEC was born from lived experience, deep roots in Southern California’s Black and Brown faith communities, and the urgent need for healing pathways outside traditional systems. The organization began as grassroots grief support gatherings led by community members who recognized that people needed more than sympathy—they needed leadership, guidance, and culturally rooted care.

Over time, SCCEC’s work expanded into peer networks, youth programs, wellness education, advocacy, and community healing infrastructures. What began as a response to personal tragedy has evolved into a model of community-led transformation.

OUR APPROACH

We believe healing is communal. By blending clinical insight, cultural wisdom, spiritual traditions, and lived experience, SCCEC creates spaces where transformation feels accessible and real. We don’t just hold space—we build power.
